ABC Open ABC Open - Executive Producer Multiplatform
2011 - present
I am responsible for all digital platforms for ABC Open. We have over 40 producers stationed around regional Australia to teach digital skills and collaborate with people to tell their stories. So far, we've launched over 100 projects and collected over 65,000 stories to share across the ABC. Our development team has built a fully responsive website which allows upload of photos, video and text complete with a bespoke admin system.

triple j triple j Digital Team Leader
2007 - 2010
Leading a small team I was in charge of the digital strategy and implementation of the triple j website. I created a new live music section of the website, kickstarted their mobile app and got sweaty working on the live broadcasts at several music festivals.

triple j Unearthed triple j Unearthed
2006-2007
I produced and launched the website for triple j Unearthed in August 2006. The website provided a new way for unsigned Australian musicians to have their music discovered and heard. It was a raging success right from the start and has now cemented itself as an integral part of the Australian music landscape. The site also won the 'Best of the Best' category in the AIMIA awards in 2007.

The Thank Tank
2005
A collecion of nine personal thank yous from prominent Australians such as Myf Warhurst, Akira Isogawa and Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore, created to inspire people say thankyou. I directed, produced and designed the concept. The Thank Tank was part of an initiative called 'Change the World in 5 minutes' which is all about showing how small actions can make a big positive difference.

Ayuquila River - UN University Online Learning
2004
I spent 6 months in Tokyo working with a small team to create an environmental case study about the Ayuquila River in Mexico. To help learners understand processes and events in this e-case study I illustrated and created a series of animations. To get a taste of them check out these examples:
Biosphere Reserve | Landuse | Poverty Levels

Podcasting - ABC
I illustrated and animated a 30 second national TV ad for the ABC to promote it's podcasting service. The aim was to showcase some of the most popular radio personalities and emphasise the convenience and portability of podcasting.

China - Rules of Entry
I spent 2 months in Beijing China researching the local punk music scene. I documented this by writing an article for a local street magazine and also produced and recorded a short radio story for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) program Global village.

I also began creating an animation about my stay but unfortunately I didn't get very far! It's probably not even 1/4 finished but here it is anyway. The music is from a Chinese punk band I interviewed - Hang on The Box.

Xin Xin Xin Xin - Digital Allsorts
I was one of six people commissioned by the Noise festival to create an online work exploring ideas of cultural identity in Australia. My aim was to make an interactive animation treating language like a living breathing entity that can both torment and inspire. Language is more than just a tool for communication, it can inform the way you see the world in unexpected ways.

United Nations China - UNV
I worked with the UN Volunteers team in China to develop, design and build a new website that could be easily updated. We focused on making assignment information easy to obtain, giving more prominence to current news and events, and also tried to bring a more personal and human feel to the site through profiles of current UNV's. The site had to be bilingual and visually appeal to Chinese people.

Tape Art Tape Art - triple j offices
The triple j offices were completely renovated which left a lot of big empty white walls. I stumbled on some examples online of some great artworks done all in electrical tape and figured the idea would work perfectly in our office space. Electrical tape proved to be a brilliant medium - easy to change and it doesn't mark the paint. So...now everyone can look at birds and swings instead of empty white walls - much better for the brain!
